DAY BY DAY ITINERARY
Day 1 - Rongai Gate to Simba Camp
After breakfast, you’ll be driven to the Rongai Gate (1,950m/6,398ft) for registration and to meet the trekking crew. The hike begins with a gentle ascent through the forest zone, offering great views of the surrounding landscapes. You’ll reach Simba Camp (2,600m/8,530ft), where you can enjoy stunning views of the plains below.

Day 2 - Simba Camp to Kikelewa Camp
Today’s hike takes you through the moorland zone, where you’ll experience breathtaking views of the mountain and surrounding areas. The trail gets steeper as you ascend towards Kikelewa Camp (3,600m/11,811ft), offering panoramic views of the peak.

Day 3 - Kikelewa Camp to Mawenzi Tarn Camp
Today, you’ll climb towards the base of Mawenzi Peak, reaching Mawenzi Tarn Camp (4,300m/14,107ft). This camp offers a spectacular view of the surrounding peaks and glaciers. You’ll have the afternoon to rest and acclimatize to the altitude.

Day 4 - Mawenzi Tarn Camp to Kibo Hut
Today’s trek takes you through the saddle between Mawenzi and Kibo peaks. The terrain is rocky and barren, but the views of the peaks are stunning. After reaching Kibo Hut (4,700m/15,419ft), you’ll have an early dinner and rest in preparation for the summit attempt tomorrow.

Day 5 - Kibo Hut to Uhuru Peak to Horombo Hut
This is the summit day! You’ll begin the climb to Uhuru Peak (5,895m/19,341ft) at midnight. The climb is tough, but reaching the summit is incredibly rewarding. After celebrating your achievement, descend to Horombo Hut (3,720m/12,205ft) for the night.

Day 6 - Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate and Transfer to Moshi
After breakfast, descend through the rainforest to Marangu Gate (1,830m/6,004ft), where you’ll sign out. A vehicle will be waiting to transfer you back to Moshi for a celebratory meal and your well-deserved rest.
